CCHS to host pro wrestling event

Professional wrestling is coming to Clanton thanks to a partnership between Chilton County High School and Victory Championship Wrestling.

The fundraising event will take place March 15 at the CCHS gymnasium. Proceeds will benefit the football program.

According to CCHS athletic director Tal Morrison, the partnership began after he was approached about holding an event via email.

“I researched the company and what they do, the type of show they put on and the benefits (or possible benefits) of hosting such an event,” Morrison said.

Students and community members were polled as part of the planning process to gauge the possible interest surrounding the event.

VCW is based in Anniston.

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the first match scheduled for 7 p.m.

Tickets are $10 the night of the event but can be purchased in advance for $5.

To purchase advance tickets see Morrison or visit www.vcwaction.com.
