Spring sports calendar offers options

Following Isabella’s loss in the girls basketball regional semifinal on Feb. 15, there are no longer any basketball teams from the county competing.

However, do not fear, because the next group of sports is about to pick up where basketball left off.

The spring season has probably the most variety of sports that is played in the county in a single period during the year.

If you like sports, there is most likely something going on that you can follow and get excited about.

Baseball and softball highlight the group, but there are several other sports going on that include golf, tennis and track and field.

The majority of baseball and softball teams in the county will begin play within the next week, officially signifying the start of the spring sports season.

It is a busy time of year, not only for the athletes playing those sports, but also for the fans watching from the stands.

The spring weather will soon follow the spring sports, although rainy days and cold nights are not uncommon in the early stages of the spring sports calendar.

Each of the sports mentioned above are played outside and are meant to be played with warmer temperatures in mind.

There are always some kind of sporting events going on in the county, and the spring season certainly does not disappoint with plenty of options to choose from.
