Local church will hit the highway to raise money for Relay For Life

New Life Community Church in Clanton will host a bike ride to benefit Relay For Life on Saturday, April 16.

Riders will leave the church at 9 a.m., and travel 53 miles to Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham.

Upon their return, dinner will be provided for all riders, and door prizes will be given away.

Church member Vicky Holston suggested the event as a fundraiser because she has participated in several bike ride events, said Kristi Langston coordinator of the event.

“As of now, we do not know how many riders we will have, but we hope to have at least 50 bikes,” said Langston. “This is the second big event that the church has put on to help raise money for Relay For Life.”

The first event was a car and bike show held at Goose Pond Park.

Registration for the ride will be held from 8-9 a.m. Entry fees are $30 per bike (tax deductible) and $10 for an additional rider.

New Life Community Church is located at 1618 7th St. N (next to Baugh Ford in Clanton).

To pre-register or for more information, contact Kristi Langston, 668-7678 or 470-3978.
