Seven to vie for Miss Alabama Agriculture title
Seven contestants from around the state will vie to become Miss Alabama Agriculture on Saturday, July 30 at Jefferson State Community College’s Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center.
Clanton Evening Lions Club is the sponsor of this pageant for the second consecutive year. The contestants will arrive in Chilton County next Thursday and rehearse all day Friday, said Barry Rowe, pageant coordinator.
Saturday, the contestants will again rehearse and have their personal interviews with the judges before the pageant begins.
The contestants will compete in private interview, opening number, casual wear and evening wear.
Allison Cobb of Chilton County is the reigning Miss Alabama Agriculture, and she will be in attendance to crown her successor.
The winner will receive a $2,000 scholarship and the first runner up will receive a $750 scholarship.
Attitudes Dance of Cornerstone Fitness and Wellness will provide entertainment.
The public is invited to come and support these young ladies, Rowe said.
The pageant will begin at 6:30 p.m., and admission is $7.
The contestants this year are: Rebecca Tate of Chilton County; Magenn McGriff of Shelby County, (daughter of Chilton County Circuit Clerk Glenn McGriff); Hailey Lambeth of Escambia County; Hannah Wilson of Greene County; Amber Nolin of Coffee County; Bridgette Hulsey of Calhoun County; and Lauren Rabren of Elmore County.
“We’re very excited about this,” said Rowe. “We hope to grow this over the next few years, and looking forward to a great turnout.”
