Holiday to affect local schedules

The Labor Day holiday on Sept. 6 will affect meeting dates and city garbage collection times next week.

The Thorsby Town Council will meet Friday, Sept. 3 at the Town Annex starting at 11 a.m. The meeting will be the first of two regular meetings scheduled for the month of September.

Residential garbage pickup in the town will be a day behind on Monday and Tuesday; for example, Monday’s garbage will be collected on Tuesday.

The Jemison City Council will hold its council meeting Tuesday, Sept. 7 at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Complex.

Jemison will also collect Monday’s garbage on Tuesday.

The city of Clanton will pick up garbage early Monday morning at 6. Residents are asked to leave their cans by the curb until their garbage is picked up. For more information, call Clanton City Hall at 755-4051.

Maplesville Town Hall will be closed Monday, and Monday’s garbage route will be picked up on Tuesday. For more information, call Maplesville Town Hall at (334) 366-4211.
