Jemison loses at Corner in final minute

A long field goal, a touchdown pass with less than 1 minute left to play and an untimely penalty sent Jemison to defeat on Friday, 24-21 at Corner.

The Panthers scored first on a 2-yard run by Jacob Hatch. B.P. Reeves was good on the point-after, as he was on all three of Jemison’s touchdowns.

Corner, playing at home on senior night, tied the game on a 65-yard pass seconds into the second quarter, and then the home team took the lead with a 33-yard pass with 10:43 remaining until halftime.

Jemison’s Randy Satterfield broke loose for a 23-yard touchdown run to tie the game just before halftime.

Corner regained the lead, 17-14, on a 49-yard field goal with time winding down in the third quarter.

Kevin King’s 7-yard scoring run made it 21-17 JHS with 2:55 left in the game, but Corner scored on a 13-yard pass with 2:55 to go.

Jemison threatened again as Hatch completed a long pass to Satterfield to the Corner 10-yard line, but a penalty for an ineligible receiver downfield essentially ended the game.

Hatch completed nine passes in 18 attempts for 116 yards.

Satterfield ran six times for 66 yards and caught three passes for 40 yards.

King rushed 15 times for 117 yards and caught three passes for 42 yards.

Raequane Jones recorded 15 tackles, including two for a loss. Tyler Henderson had 11 tackles, and P.J. Blue had 10 tackles and two fumble recoveries.
