Clanton Police searching for shooting suspects (updated)
Police are looking for the suspect or suspects who were involved with a shooting Friday in Clanton.
One victim was treated on the scene of the incident, near the intersection of 14th Street and Fourth Avenue South in the West End community, for a gunshot wound to the stomach, according to Clanton Police.
The victim was transported to UAB Medical Center though his injury was not considered life-threatening.
Two “persons of interest” were interviewed by investigators at about 4 p.m. Friday, according to CPD Capt. Neil Fetner, as the investigators continued to try to develop suspects in the incident.
The interviewees are not necessarily considered suspects but were interviewed because police thought they could provide information pertinent to the case.
“We’re still trying to figure out who was involved,” Fetner said.
No additional information was available as of press time Friday.
Anyone with information about the incident should call Fetner at (205) 258-6541.
