CCHS students inducted into Beta Club, Honor Society

New members of the Chilton County High School National Honor Society recite the organization’s pledge during an induction ceremony Friday held in the school’s auditorium.

Many Chilton County High School students were inducted into the Beta Club and National Honor Society during a ceremony Friday at the school.

New Beta Club members were inducted first, by President Nicholas Lyn, Vice-President Natalie Peoples, Secretary Catherine Rowe and Treasurer Olivia Ricks.

The new members included: Derek Adams, Josie Adams, Zachary Ashley, Jesse Beaver, Trenton Bishop, Kacy Brasher, James Carter, Kristina Caton, Austin Chandler, Anthony Chavez, Ricky Cleckler, Logan Clements, Taylor Deavers, Brian Flomer, Brady Graves, Amanda Gray, Jonathan Hayes, Tyler Henderson, Hannah Henley, Blake Hudson, Andrea Knight, Raegan Knight, Ashley Lanier, Lloyd Lykes, Madison Lynn, Jessica Martin, Garren Minor, Conner Morgan, April Pairett, Kristen Parrish, Laken Popwell, Jeffrey Price, Karragan Ratliff, Elizabeth Ray, Alyssa Riley, Cecelee Roper, Caitlin Seales, Elizabeth Short, Caitlyn Smith, Emily Smith, Madison Smith, Erica Talley, Briar Teel, Destiny Waites, Caleb Wakefield and James Wutke.

The Beta Pledge was recited: “I do solemnly declare that I shall always strive to hold fast to the principles of honesty; to endeavor constantly to maintain an admirable reputation; and to develop the foundation of character, service and leadership in my life. I also pledge to cooperate with fellow members of the National Beta Club. I will encourage an individual responsibility to improve my school, my community, state and nation. I will defend a high standard of morality and join with my club to contribute to the improvement of our entire student body.”

New members of the National Honor Society included: Josie Adams, Zachary Ashley, Christin Barron, James Carter, Kristina Caton, Austin Chandler, Anthony Chavez, Ricky Cleckler, Jacob Empson, Brady Graves, Amanda Gray, Tyler Henderson, Hannah Henley, Blake Hudson, Andrea Knight, Raegan Knight, Ashley Lanier, Lloyd Lykes, Garren Minor, Savannah Parrish, Jeffrey Price, Conner Morgan, Elizabeth Ray, Cecelee Roper, Caitlin Seales, Hope Short and Emily Smith.

The new members were inducted by club President Katie Mims, Vice-President Mason Easterling, Secretary Kacy Sanders and Treasurer Catherine Rowe.

The Honor Society pledge recited was: “I pledge to maintain high scholastic standing, to hold as fundamental and worthy. As untarnished character, to endeavor intelligently and courageously. To be a leader, and to give of myself freely in service to others. In doing so, I shall prove myself worthy of a place in the National Honor Society.”
