Sheriff’s Office arrests 2 burglary suspects

The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office arrested two suspects wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in North Chilton on the morning of Oct. 1.

CCSO arrested Daryl Stephen Findley and Tyler Knox Burnett after the pair allegedly committed three separate burglaries in the 1400 block of County Road 33.

CCSO conducted a manhunt in conjunction with other local agencies to apprehend the pair, including dog teams from correctional facilities in Bibb and Elmore counties as well as members of Jemison and Calera police departments.

“We would like to thank the public for their help,” said Sheriff John Shearon. “We would also like to thank the Bibb and Staton prison dog teams, Jemison PD, Calera PD and Chilton County 911. The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office is very thankful for everyone’s help in getting these people behind bars. They have been suspects in several cases from Pelham to Chilton County.”

Burnett has been charged with two counts of burglary in the third degree, theft from a residence, a first offense for having drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude.

Findley has been charged with three counts of burglary in the third degree, three thefts of property charges, criminal mischief in the third degree, breaking and entering a vehicle and attempting to elude.
