Zoey Collum now holds a pair of crowns after being named Chilton County High School’s 2018 homecoming queen.

She is also the current Miss Peach Queen.

Despite winning two crowns in the past year, Collum understands the significant importance that both hold within the community.

“It is really such an honor,” Collum said. “I really didn’t expect it, and I was just so honored to be accepted into the homecoming court. Whoever would have got it would have been perfectly fine with me.”

Judges were the ones making the decision to name her Miss Peach Queen, but in the case of homecoming queen, it was her fellow students that had the final say.

Homecoming queen coupled with also being named Miss Congeniality in the Peach Pageant has led Collum to do some self-evaluation and examine the person that she has become.

“That’s like the most rewarding thing truly,” Collum said. “It makes me happy to think that I make that impression on people. I’m honored to be looked on that way by my peers.”

She is a member of the CCHS cheer squad and Crossroads youth group at West End Baptist Church in Clanton.

Cade Williams was named homecoming king. The senior is a starting linebacker for the Tigers and finished the night with four tackles to go with his homecoming recognition.

The CCHS Student Government Association acknowledged appreciation to all Clanton schools for coming together and being a part of another homecoming celebration.

Williams is president of the SGA, while Collum is vice president of the association.
