Faith-inspired book written by former resident
Michele Evans Smith has released her book “A Life Unlived” which she believes will be relatable for many people, but especially to the people of Chilton County.
Smith was born in Clanton and grew up on and off with her family in Thorsby. She currently lives in Childersburg but still has relatives that call Thorsby home.
According to Smith, the book is a partial autobiography but it also draws on faith throughout the book.
“It is a story for those who feel left out or unloved,” Smith said.
The story will take readers on the path of Smith’s journey following the tragic death of a loved one on Memorial Day in 2010.
“We were having a barbecue,” Smith said. “I was chopping vegetables, and then 10 minutes later my life was changed forever.”
The book details how she leaned on God to help get through some of the most unsettling of times.
“It’s a spiritual journey for me,” Smith said. “I was nowhere near the Christian [back then] that I am now.”
Smith worked on the book for three years.
“I gave it a lot of prayer,” Smith said. “I know it will touch many lives.”
The book can be purchased online with Amazon books and will soon be available in store and online with Barnes and Noble.
According to Smith, she would be happy to ship autographed copies to anybody who requests one.
“If it [the book] touches one soul, it will be worth it,” Smith said.
