Bears still looking for win to clinch playoff berth
Billingsley traveled to Francis Marion on Thursday with a chance to clinch a playoff berth with a win, but the Bears (2-6, 2-4 Class 2A, Region 4) left with a 36-6 loss.
In order to secure a spot in the playoffs, BHS now needs to defeat Central-Hayneville next week and have Isabella win its next two games, against R.C. Hatch on Friday and against Francis Marion next week. That scenario would result in a three-way tie for the fourth a final playoff berth from the region.
On Thursday, junior Reggie Browder rushed 24 times for 115 yards, and freshman Devan Davis scored Billingsley’s only touchdown, in the first quarter.
