CCHS softball tops Devils in title game

Like their baseball counterparts earlier in the day, Chilton County’s softball team won its county tournament Saturday.
The Tigers defeated tournament host Maplesville, 7-2, in the championship game.
Brianna Cleckler and Kadie Coker combined to hold the Red Devils scoreless except for the sixth inning, when CCHS had built a 7-0 lead.
Cleckler was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
The all-tournament team included: Savannah Bice and Taylor McManus from Thorsby, Shelby Lopez and Tiffany Guin from Jemison, Lacey Short and Mattie Cleckler from Verbena, Autumn Smith and Morgan Little from Maplesville and Lindsey Parrish, Mary Kat Graham, April Lewis and Cleckler from CCHS.
