The Central Alabama Red Devils won big over the West Georgia Falcons, 43-7, on March 10 in their first home game of the season.
Jeremy Anderson got Central Alabama on the scoreboard first with a 1-yard scoring run with 9:09 remaining in the first quarter.
Trent Reed tackled a West Georgia player in the end zone for a safety shortly into the second quarter, and Clayton Payne passed to Christian Briscoe for a 25-yard touchdown with 3:34 left until halftime.
Payne was good on both point-after tries to make the score 16-0, but the Falcons scored before the break—helped along by 40 yards worth of penalties Devils’ penalties—with a 5-yard pass.
The second half was all Red Devils: Eric Argo passed to Briscoe for a 16-yard touchdown, Bernard Worthey ran two yards for a score, Anderson ran for a 13-yard score and Payne ran 28 yards for a TD.
Central Alabama racked up 278 yards of total offense.
Payne had four rushes for 33 yards, and Anderson had five rushes for 26 yards.
Roman McCoy caught two passes for 68 yards, and Briscoe caught three passes for 49 yards.
Argo completed five passes in 10 attempts for 110 yards.
The Devils travel to Gadsden on Saturday to take on the Alabama Ravens.
