Jemison Police did a great job helping me

Dear Editor,
I would like to publicly express my appreciation to Jemison Police Officer Tera Mayfield and Deputy Chief Marc McMinn.
On Aug. 4, a man broke a panel out of my back door and crawled inside at about 8:30 a.m. When he saw me, he went out the hole. He did not touch me. I think I scared him as much as he scared me.
I called 911 and described him. In a short time, Mayfield was here. She was compassionate but very professional. She made sure I didn’t need an ambulance. She told me she was going to look for the man but would be back to make out the report. She saw the damage to the door as she came into my house. In about 35 minutes, she was back to make the report.
Before noon, she was back to tell me the man, along with his wife, had been caught in Clanton and was in jail. On Aug. 9, McMinn made a follow-up visit. He was very concerned and professional.
The residents of Jemison and its jurisdiction are blessed to have these two people on their force.
I have spoken with Mayor Eddie Reed about this matter.
