Robert Linus Seabury

Robert Linus Seabury, age 80, of Jemison, having fought the good fight and having finished the course, entered the eternal presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 6, 2010. He was a loving husband, father and “Poppy” and will greatly be missed by all who knew him.
He proudly served as a Cpl. in the United States 585th Army Signal Support Company out of Fort Monmouth, NJ from 1952-1954, during the Korean War. He worked as a Foreman at Birmingham Treatment Facility at Jim Walter Resources, retiring after 43 years of service. He was a Deacon and member of the Senior Adult Men’s Sunday School Class at Jemison First Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his father, James L. Seabury; mother, Marcia Whitaker Seabury; brother, John W. Seabury; and sisters, Marcia Seabury Garrett (Gordon) and Betty Lou Seabury.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte McAbee Seabury; daughter, Marsha S. Lambert; sons, Ted (Dee) Seabury and Tom (Jamelle) Seabury; grandchildren, Richey (Jennifer) Lambert, Bailey and Anna Virginia Seabury; great granddaughter, Karlee Lambert; sister, Rachel Seabury Hurst; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 7 from 6-8 p.m. at Jemison First Baptist Church with burial Friday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Bessemer.
