D.M. Bone

D.M. Bone, age 76, of Billingsley, went home to be with the Lord and Savior on Sept. 22, 2010, at his home after a long battle with bladder cancer.
Mr. Bone was born in Autauga County on Feb. 12, 1934, the son of Willie and Adell Bone. He was the owner of Magnum Roofing, located in Montgomery. He is best known as the one-armed pitcher for Billingsley High School in the 1950s and the father of the Bone Family Singers of the 1960s and 1970s, and as an avid hunter.
Surviving relatives include his wife of 54 years, Dot Billingsley Bone; son, Laird (Sarah) Bone of Cecil; daughter, Charlotte (Mark) Jarrett of Billingsley; daughter, Tammy (Tom) Ewing of Montgomery; son, Norman Bone of Deatsville; son, Steve (Janet) Bone of Norfolk, Va.; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Imogene Benton and Nancy (Gary) Goff; and a brother, Will (Alisa) Bone.
He was preceded in death by one great grandchild.

Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in Bethsalem Baptist Cemetery.
