Doris Lee Smith, 79, passed away on Tuesday Sept. 14, 2010, at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 17 at 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church with the Rev. Carey Waldrop and the Rev. Wayne Cleckler officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Fred) Hain of Raleigh, N.C., Sharon (David) Harrison of Maplesville, Debbie (Andy) Payne of Maplesville, Donna (Frank) Atchison of Maplesville and Brenda Davenport of Maplesville; her sons, Wayne (Melinda) Smith of Pike Road and James Keith Smith of Pensacola, Fla.; 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Jimmy Walker and Eunice Walker; her stepmother, Miss Zudie Walker; sister, Elsie Smith; sister, Lorene Harrison; brother, Claude Walker; grandchildren, Amber Davenport and Sara Davenport; great-grandson, Brandon Geremia; and her godmother, Ovetta Jackson Davis.

Pallbearers will be Terry Seales, A.C. Champion, Leonard Atchison, Billy Littleton, Larry Walker, Rolin Smith, Charles Goodwin and Carl McCary.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. at the church.
