Burton Wayne Huff

Burton Wayne Huff, 46, began his new life in heaven on Sept. 11, 2010.
He was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Feb. 28, 2010, and passed from this life at his home in Stanton. Surviving him are his wife, Amy Parnell Huff; sons, Trent Burton Huff and Casen Robert Huff; father, Orbrie B. Huff; sister, Lynn (Roger) Robinson of Millbrook; and in-laws, James and Sandra Parnell of Stanton. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Jimmy (Robin) Parnell, Jeff (Sharon) Parnell and Joseph (Jodi) Parnell. Burton leaves behind his nieces and nephews, Jennifer Robinson, James Robert Parnell, Jordan Parnell, Jacob Parnell, Anna Grace Parnell, Jack Parnell and Jenna Parnell.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Mary Inez Robertson Huff, and infant sons, Trevor and Riley Huff.
Burton was an active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he committed his life to Christ in February 2008. He was a dedicated father whose greatest love was spending time with his children. A compassionate and generous friend, he could always be counted on to assist anyone in need. Burton was a long-time member of Perry Mountain Motorcycle Club and a dirt bike enthusiast. He rode endurance and harescramble races across the Southeast from his early teens, winning many competitions over the years.
A celebration of his life was held at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Stanton  at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010. The Rev. Danny Rasberry and friends Kurt Wallace and Shane Ogle paid tribute to a life well lived. Burial was at Ebenezer Cemetery following the church service. Pallbearers were Landon Carter, Raymond Broderick, John Higginbotham, Keith Chandler, Jerrod Champion, James Burt, Tommy Seales, Allen Green, Ted Anz and Tom Wolffe. Honorary pallbearers were Larry Little, Kenneth Royster, Stewart Harrison, Glenn Hollingshead, James Hathcock, Cecil Cash, Teddy Chadwick, Jeff Thrasher and Chris Greene.
The family received friends at Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home in Selma from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11.
The family wishes to express its thanks and love to the many friends and relatives who rallied around Burton during his illness, visited him and assisted in caring for him and for his family, especially Penny Gregg, Martha Green, Vicki Anz and Janet Seales. Our hearts were comforted and blessed by your expressions of love and friendship.
