County revenue stays flat

The Chilton County Commission Office projected $5,095,737 in total revenue for the 2010-2011 fiscal year, which is relatively no change from that of the current fiscal year.
The amount projected excludes the special ad valorem tax revenue and fire ad valorem tax revenue dispersed among the county’s rural volunteer fire departments.
County Administrator Vanessa Hendrick said ad valorem property tax revenue was $200,000 less than the previous year, but tax money collected from transaction fees pretty much made up for the loss.
The three-year average for county revenue is about $4.7 million, Hendrick added.
The commission will meet for a public hearing Monday, Aug. 16 at 5 p.m. in the upstairs commission board room of the courthouse to discuss the General Fund and other budget issues.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium on the bottom floor of the courthouse. Anyone who wishes to address the commission must sign in first.
