Samuel “Sam” William Lewis, 59, of Clanton died Monday, Jan. 12, at his residence.
He was born on Sunday, June 5, 1949 in Birmingham, son of John C. Lewis and the late Betty Rosania Lewis. He was a construction assistant. He was a member of the Lighthouse Church in Thorsby. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
Surviving are his father, John C. Lewis of Clanton; sister, Judy Drake of Huntsville; two brothers, Thomas (Angie) Lewis of Atlanta, Ga., Richard (Debbie) Lewis of Birmingham; two sister-in-Laws, Marcia Lewis of Helena, Patty Lewis of Vincent; many loved ones including 15 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Lewis; wife, Norma Lewis; and brothers, John Lewis and William Lewis.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 14, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Travis Bussey officiating. Interment will follow in New Site Cemetery, in Coosa County.
