Vernon Elvin Maddox, 75, of Clanton died Thursday, March 5, at Trinity Medical Center, Birmingham.
He was born Thursday, May 11, 1933 in Chilton County, son of the late Leonard Maddox and the late Lois Price Maddox.
He worked in sheet metal at Hayes Aircraft.
Surviving are wife, Betty Maddox of Clanton; two daughters, Wanda (Tommy) Martin of Prattville and Renae (Frank) Barron of Clanton; two sons, Mike (Diane) Maddox and Ronald (Linda) Maddox, both of Clanton; three granddaughters, Crystal (Tim) Martin of Jemison, Bridget (Jesus) Gonzalez of Jemison and Jessica (Jason) Britt of Verbena; four grandsons, Shane (Cathy) Martin of Clanton, Ronald (Penny) Maddox Jr. of Jemison, Brandon (Lindsey) Maddox of Clanton and Scott (Kayla) Maddox of Clanton; 12 great-grandchildren; special friend, Rachel Tiffin; Sister, Pearl (Joe) Bice of Clanton; brother-in-law, Cubby Jones.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Polly Jones; and brother, Horace Maddox.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. today at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be Sunday, March 8, at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Plunkett, the Rev. William Clayton and the Rev. Billy Boatwright officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery, Clanton.
