Dennis Minor

Mr. Dennis Minor, 42, of Huntsville died Saturday, March 21 at a local hospital. He was born Oct. 4, 1966.
Dennis M i n o r grew up playing baseball a n d football in the l o c a l leagues i n Clanton. He excelled more in baseball and held several Dixie Youth records with no-hit games and strikeouts. He also was a great hitter with numerous home runs and a high batting average.
Dennis graduated from Chilton County High School and attained his pharmacy degree from Auburn University. His drive, determination and work ethic led him to the ownership of three independent pharmacies: two in Hazel Green and one in Athens.
Dennis followed in the footsteps of his father, Thomas Minor, and was greatly involved in the little league baseball program in the Hazel Green area where he helped coach the team his son, Jackson Minor, played on. Dennis lived his life with his determination to be a leader and his willingness to give and help anybody in need. No one could ask for a better father, son, brother or friend than Jonathan Dennis Minor.
He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazel Green.
He is survived by his wife, Karla Jacobs Minor; son, Jackson Minor; step-daughter, Meagan Bailey; his mother, Dean Minor; and his two brothers and their families: Jay Minor and Jayda and Landon, Brad Minor and Shonna and Gage.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Minor.
Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hazel Green. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Bobby Eads officiating. Graveside services and burial will be held at Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton at 3:30 p.m. with the Rev. Roland Davis officiating.
