Virginia Bardell Reynolds, 92, of Jemison, Alabama, passed away on April 9, 2009, at home with loving family at her side. Mrs. Reynolds was born August 25, 1916 to Rowland and Marie Bardell in Brooklyn, New York. She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life, Frank J. Reynolds, to whom she was joyously married for 52 years. Frank and Virginia (known as “Unie” and “Gina” to their friends) resided in New York and Atlanta, but their beloved home was in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Reynolds will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a world traveler, an avid sports fan, a great golfer and a friend to all. She spread her laughter, joy, kindness and generosity wherever she went.
Mrs. Reynolds is survived by her four children, Rowland R. Wolf (William) of Jemison, Alabama, Daryl R. Brinkley (David) of Atlanta, Georgia, Craig B. Reynolds (Jo) of Atlanta, Georgia; Bardell M. Reynolds (Cindy Russo) of Ponte Vedra, Florida and 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and friends too numerous to count. She lived the true great life. She loved unconditionally, she enriched the lives of others and she will be missed with whole hearts.
A visitation with the family will be held on Monday, April 13, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. at the home of Bill and Rowland Wolf, Journey’s End Farm in Jemison, Alabama — Jefferson Memorial, Trussville, directing.
Mrs. Reynolds was grateful, and the family will remain grateful, to the doctors who treated her, to her caregivers Martha and Janie, to her hospice nurses, Celestie and Melinda, and to the members of the St. James Community Church. All were blessings in hours of need.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. James Community Church, 8010 County Road 42, Jemison, AL 35085.
