Violet Vivian Martin, 90, of Thorsby died Saturday, April 25 at her residence.
She was born Sunday, Oct. 20, 1918 in St. Clair County, daughter of the late William Edgar Parker and the late Mary Magdalene Isbel Parker.
She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her two daughters, Tracia (Travis) Bussey of Thorsby, Elaine (Larry) Marshall of Pinson; 10 grandchildren, Cara O’Neal of Clanton, Candice Lewis of Nashville, Tenn.; Cristen Bussey of Birmingham, Ryan Marshall of Birmingham, Kyle Marshall of Pinson, Pamela Griffin of Biloxi, Miss.; Donna Roberts of Biloxi, Miss.; Wayne Martin of Biloxi, Miss; Randy Martin of Biloxi, Miss; daughter-in-law, Sarah Tubbs Martin of Biloxi, Miss.; 15 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Colley Martin; son, Donald Wayne Martin; and great-granddaughter, Cristen Martin.
Services were held Monday, April 27, at 2 p.m. at The Lighthouse Church with the Rev. Donnie Messer and the Rev. Willie Littleton officiating. Interment followed in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton.
