Mary Ann Messer, age 64 of Clanton, peacefully passed away Friday, June 12 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday June 14 at First United Methodist Church Clanton at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Brian Dovey officiating and Lawrence Brown-Service Funeral Home of Selma directing. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at Helen’s Place.
Mrs. Messer is preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wyatt.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Kenneth J. Messer Sr.; her son, Kenneth Judson “Jud” Messer Jr. (Tammy); her daughter, Ann M. Glasscock (Tommy); her three granddaughters, Morgan E. Glasscock, Lynsie R. Glasscock, Rachel J. Mims; her sisters, Faye Howell (Ronnie), Elizabeth Chambers (Robert), Betty Trammell (David); and a host of young people who called her “Maw Maw.”
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made in her name to First United Methodist Church or donations given the American Cancer Society.
