Willie Varnell (Bud) Wilson was born October 16, 1940.

As a young adult, he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior.

He married Norma Jean Parker on August 27, 1960, and from this union was born 13 children: Shirley Wilson, Shadrick (Rosezitta) Wilson, Sheila Wilson, John Wilson, Lucretia (Norman) Blackmon, Sabrina (Arthur) Harris, Sherry (Algarian) Burks, Dorothy (Rodney) England, Jo (Clifford) Murray, Adrain Wilson, Yalonda Wilson, Willis Wilson, and Darrell Wilson.

He was called home to be with the Lord on Aug. 2.

He was survived by his loving wife, all his children, 33 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family is having a wake in his honor from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at The Good Shepherd Funeral Home in Montevallo.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Convert Missionary Baptist Church in Maplesville.
