Frances Lucas

Frances Marie Lucas, 83, of Jemison passed away Feb. 19, 2010, in Alabaster.
Frances was born Dec. 17, 1926, in Rochester, N.Y. She has been a resident of Chilton County since 1962. Frances was a loving wife and devoted mother. Her life was with her family. When her health would permit, she attended Lighthouse Church in Thorsby. Frances had a love for gospel music. She will be missed by the many people who loved her.
Frances is survived by her two sons, Mr. Dale (Sherry) Jackson of Montevallo and Mr. Thomas (Earlene) Jackson of Jemison; five daughters, Mrs. Loreen (Richard) Foust of Alabaster, Mrs. Charlene (J.R.) Lucas of Clanton, Mrs. Eva Marie (Michael) Fletcher of Jemison, Mrs. Diana (William) Hogg of Calera and Mrs. Darlene (Ed) Wesson of Jemison; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Lynn Palmer of Calera; 23 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; her in-laws, Mr. Woodford and Mrs. Geraldine Lucas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Frances is preceded in death by husband, Mr. Floyd Jean Lucas; son, Mr. Edward Palmer; son, Mr. David Lucas; father, Mr. George Linderman; mother, Mrs. Eva Mascowski; step-father, Mr. Jack Mascowski; along with three sisters and one brother.
The family received friends Saturday, Feb. 20 from 6-8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton.
Graveside services were held Sunday, Feb. 21 at 1 p.m. in the Mars Hill Baptist Church cemetery in Jemison with the Rev. Travis Bussey officiating.
