Hudson Calfee

Hudson Charles “Dick” Calfee, 85, of Panama City, Fla. went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 22, 2010, while peacefully resting at his home and surrounded by his family.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1924, in Clanton. Although raised in the Isabella community, he was a resident of Panama City since his retirement from Scott Air Force Base in 1970. Dick graduated from Isabella High School in 1943 and attended Jacksonville State University. He served 26 years in the USAF and was a veteran of World War II and the Vietnam War. After his retirement from the military as SMSGT, he worked at Seymour Electric in Panama City for 17 years. Dick was a 33rd degree Mason of the Maplesville Masonic Lodge No. 706 and a deacon of Springfield Baptist Church in Panama City. He was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church during his time of residence in the Isabella community.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 and 1/2 years, Emma Jean Calfee; daughter, Rhonda C. Entriken and husband, Bob of Lawrenceville, Ga.; daughter, Marsha Calfee of Lawrenceville, Ga.; grandson, Todd Charles Entriken and wife, Michelle of Grayson, Ga.; granddaughter, Rene Palenzuela and husband, Bernie of Loganville, Ga.; great-granddaughter, Katelin; and great-grandsons, Matthew and Will, all of Georgia; sister-in-laws, Frances Bean Calfee of Clanton and Jerry Pittman of Meridian, Miss.; and six nieces and six nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Orren and Ioda Calfee; and brothers, Hollis, Ezell, James and Elree, all originally from the Isabella community.
Funeral services were held for Dick on Thursday, March 25 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. He was laid to rest following the funeral services at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Panama City.
