City officials made day

I want to personally thank Mayor Eddie Reed, Police Chief Shane Fulmer and Lt. Mark McMinn for all their help and support on April 9 at the Jemison Headstart.

We appreciate them coming out and supporting the kids in our Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Day. It was a huge success.

It meant a lot to the kids and the staff to have them there helping the kids hang their ribbons and releasing the balloons with them.

When I made the phone call asking for them to join us, they gave no hesitation and volunteered to help in any way they could. It was a beautiful sight watching them interact with the children.

It’s great to know that ourmayor and our police department are involved in the community the way they are. A lot of communities are not as fortunate as we are to have such wonderful leaders and role models.

The look on the kids’ faces said it all. I am so grateful that I was part of the event. It truely meant a lot to me to see the kids enjoying themselves and the staff having a great time, too.

If you live in Jemison or you happen to see these three men, be sure to thank them for caring enough for our kids. They took the time to be there and help these children have a wonderful event.

On behalf of myself, the children and the staff at Headstart and the parents, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping make our day a huge success.
