Thorsby Town Council held its final meeting of 2011 Monday night.

During the short meeting, the council voted to cancel its next meeting because of Christmas. The council will next meet on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 at 6 p.m. at the Thorsby Town Annex.

In other business, Mayor Dearl Hilyer announced that town employees will have their Christmas party on Thursday, Dec. 15 at noon.

The council also approved police officer Gerald Purvis’ request to be part-time.
