Jemison now has three-way mayoral race

Wayne Caton has qualified for mayor in the town of Jemison. Caton’s qualification makes Jemison’s election for mayor a three-way race with Kenneth Ray and Eddie Reed.
Maplesville expects more candidates to qualify today by 5 p.m., but as of yesterday Ray Mitchell has qualified for District 4 and Jim Threadgill has qualified for District 5 on the city council.
James Shropshire and Harry Adkins have qualified for Place 4 on the city council in Thorsby.
In Clanton, Sammy Wilson and Annie Winters Varner have qualified for Ward 3 on the city council last week, and William Trimble has qualified for Ward 4.
Today is the last day to qualify for municipal office positions. All prospective candidates must qualify by 5 p.m. at the city clerk’s office.
