The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce held an ambassadors’ luncheon Nov. 29 at Shoney’s to review this year’s successes and prepare for upcoming community events.
“We’ve come off a very good year, and it’s not over yet,” Chamber Executive Director Mike Robertson said. “After December, we will have had 61 events at the Chamber.”
The Chamber acquired 40 new members this year, as well as four new corporate sponsors: Lemak Sports Medicine & Orthopedics, Personal Appearance Catering, Heart of Dixie Parts & Equipment and The Clanton Advertiser.
Robertson said the city of Clanton has been “very generous” to help with renovations on the interior and exterior of the Chamber building.
In addition, the nominating committee has tapped seven new directors who will come on board in January, Robertson said.
Ambassadors attend and assist with meetings, ribbon cuttings and various events in Chilton County, such as the annual Peach Jam.
“The average attendance has been in the mid-50s,” Robertson said of this year’s ribbon cuttings. “It just makes me feel good, and it makes the business owners feel so good. It’s important that we have these local businesses in our community.”
