Roger Arvest Davis

Roger Arvest Davis, age 64 of Clanton, passed away on Nov. 19, 2011, at his residence.
He was born in Chilton County on May 13, 1947, the son of the late Elzie Arvest Davis and the late Ruthie Nell Hayes Davis.
Mr. Davis was a truck driver. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp during Vietnam, where he received the Purple Heart Medal.
He is survived by: wife, Gail Davis of Clanton; daughter, Tammy Davis (Robert) Pairrett of Clanton; daughter, Vickie Davis (Tim) Headley of Clanton; daughter, Brandie Davis of Clanton; daughter, Kelly Davis of Clanton; eight grandchildren; brother, Leo Davis of Clanton; sister, Betty Ploss of Rockford; sister, Jenelle Cleckler of Prattville; and sister, Mavis Cleckler of Prattville.
He is preceded in death by: parents, Elzie and Ruth Davis; and brother, Clayton Davis.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Ellison-Mims Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Mims Funeral Home with the Rev. Ernest Fike officiating.
Burial with military honors will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Clanton.
