Delondre DeJarnett recorded a double-double Thursday to lead Chilton County’s boys team to a 56-37 win over Holtville in the Tigers’ first game of the season.
DeJarnett recorded 10 points and 12 rebounds, and also had three assists.
Jamarcus Williams led the Tigers with 11 points, and Davre Williams had nine points.
Chilton coach Cain Young said he was pleased with the win but thought his team was sloppy.
“We’ve got a lot of young people in key positions,” Young said. “It’s going to take a lot of work to get to where we want to be. But they played hard.”
