Rebels go into overtime to win first game

Thorsby defeated Fayetteville, 62-55 in overtime, on Thursday for the Rebels’ first win of the young season.

The game was close throughout, and Houston Daniel was fouled attempting a 3-pointer for the win at the end of regulation.

The shot didn’t go in, but Daniel made the second and third free throws to send the game into overtime.

In the extra period, THS (1-1) held Fayetteville two points while scoring all of its points from the free throw line.

Parker Bryan made four free throws in overtime, Jeffrey Thornton made two and Daniel had one.

Daniel scored a team-high 17 points, and Bryan had 13 points.

B.B. Evans and Jagger Cook each had 11 points.

Thornton scored eight points, all of which came in the second half.
