Isabella fared well in a preseason matchups on Thursday night against competition from higher classifications, defeating Class 4A Northside, 21-0, and tying Class 5A Brookwood, 7-7.

“We were really pleased,” Isabella coach Lanny Jones said. “They fought hard.”

The Mustangs were led on the ground by Donovan Craig (50 yards on 12 carries) and Justin Veazey (pictured – 45 yards and one touchdown on three carries).

Quarterback Allen Edwards completed eight of 16 passes for 119 yards and one score. Blake Lawley led the defense with 10 tackles.
