The 2011 winners of the Miss Chilton County Pageant were crowned Saturday night after a minor time change because of the Alabama-LSU game.

Candace Pierce, 19, of Clanton was named Miss Chilton County and Miss Congeniality.

Along with her new title, Pierce was the recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from the Clanton Evening Lions Club.

“I’m very honored to be given the opportunity,” Pierce said. “Thank you to the Lions Club for the scholarship. I’m looking forward to having a good year.”

The 2011 Miss Chilton County queens are, clockwise from left, Young Miss Lily Porter, Miss Candace Pierce, Junior Miss Mary Elizabeth McKinney and Little Miss Emma Kate Locke.

Pierce is a nursing major at Southern Union Community College in Opelika. She said she plans to continue competing in pageants for scholarship money.
