Kay Fanning, 70, of Clanton died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.

She was born Sunday, March 2, 1941, in Chilton County, daughter of the late William Henry Carroll and the late Celeste Watson Carroll.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Irby H. Fanning Jr. of Clanton; two sons, Chris (Lynnette) Fanning of Woodbridge, Va. and Craig (Carlyn) Fanning of Clanton; daughter, Cindy (Kevin) West of Clanton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers, Erskin Carroll of Clanton, Dale Carroll of Clanton and Clark Carroll of Bessemer; and two sisters, Jean Giles of Clanton and Betty Mims of Clanton.

Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kevin West and the Rev. Ken Daniel officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
