Mustangs refocus after first loss

Isabella on Tuesday bounced back from its only loss of the season to defeat Shelby County High in the first contest of a tri-match, 25-12, 25-16.
The Mustangs’ second match of the night, against Montevallo, ended too late to be included in this edition.
Class 2A No. 6 Isabella (12-1) lost to Class 1A No. 7 Parkway Christian on Monday.
SCHS won the first point of the match, but the Mustangs won the next five points and never looked back.
Carissa Eiland had six kills and 2 1/2 blocks for Isabella, and teammate Ruby Fernandez recorded seven digs.
RaeLynn Liveoak was good for six digs, and Krysta Tyler finished with 19 assists.
Amber Wyatt contributed 13 kills and 1 1/2 blocks.
The Isabella junior varsity team earlier in the night defeated Montevallo, 25-21, 25-18.
Savannah Kissel had four kills, and Devan Gallet and Jessica Maciel had 3 each. Maciel also had six assists and four aces in the match for the JV Mustangs (5-1).
Isabella visits Class 2A No. 8 Horseshoe Bend beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
