Jennifer Elaine Lawrence was recently elected “Miss Ole Miss,” the top honor at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Miss.

Jennifer is a 2005 graduate of Shelby County High School in Shelbyville, Ky., and a former resident and student of Jemison. She is currently in her senior year at Ole Miss, double-majoring in political science and Southern studies.

Jennifer is president of Kappa Delta sorority, a student of the Sally McDonnell-Barksdale Honors College, a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Mortar Board, Pi Sigma Alpha and Order of Omega honor societies, along with numerous other extracurricular activities.

Jennifer is the daughter of Robert and Carol Lawrence of Simpsonville, Ky., both graduates of Jemison High School; the granddaughter of Winston and Geneva Gentry of Jemison and June and Kenneth Garner of Calera and the late Ray Lawrence; and the great granddaughter of Thelma Shelton of Clanton.
