A group of concerned residents has formed a group to aid in the rescue of animals in Chilton County. Chilton Animal Rescue, or C.A.R., began recently in order to effectively organize the efforts of likeminded individuals who actively assist in rescuing animals and providing assistance to the Chilton County Humane Society in a variety of ways.
Colleen Kennedy, president of C.A.R., said the group’s mission is “to assist the Chilton County Humane Society place, rescue, or foster any animal in the shelter. We want to educate the citizens of Chilton County on the importance of spaying/neutering their animals and to make the public aware of the needs of the Humane Society.”
“Anyone who is interested in helping animals is welcome to join our group,” Kennedy said.
“We need folks to help with fundraisers, presentations, and transporting animals to new locations,” just to name a few of the activities for which volunteer help would be appreciated.
“We want to extend an invitation to everyone to come to our meetings. Our next meeting is Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.”
