ATHENS (AP) – A retired prep football coach was killed in a traffic accident in rural Limestone County.

County Coroner Mike West said 61-year-old Perry Noojin died Wednesday when the pickup truck he was driving hit a utility pole.

The accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Elkton Road.

Noojin coached high school teams at Emma Sansom, Fairview, Bob Jones and East Limestone.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
