Living Christmas Walk returns to park in 2 weeks

The Living Christmas Walk, a ministry of Clanton’s West End Baptist Church, will be presented from 6 to 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 12, 13 and 14 at Goose Pond Park in Clanton. Admission is free.
This event has been a holiday must for many in Chilton County. From its humble beginning under the leadership of the Rev. Bob Moon in the early 1980s, the Living Christmas Walk has taken on a theater-like quality with some of West End Baptist Church’s most talented individuals participating in it. This event has grown from a few families that would come and enjoy the efforts of those participating to the 2,500-plus attendance in 2001, which was the highest number recorded.
The Walk begins with the West End Baptist Hand Bell Choir and a friendly and eager guide ready to start your awesome journey through the life of Jesus Christ. As you walk through the park, luminaries beautifully light it. This journey will include the 11 action scenes featuring more than 40 actors and actresses, a number of live animals and creative scenery.
At the end of your experience, warm and friendly faces will greet you, ready to serve you creamy hot chocolate and wonderful conversation.
Of all that you do during your busy Christmas season, it is highly recommended that you treat yourself and your loved ones to a night you will never forget.
