Thelma Lois Clifton Cooper, 94,  of Clanton died Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011.

She was born Monday, Feb. 19, 1917, in Jefferson County, daughter of the late George Alexander Clifton and the late Alice Cornelia Johnson Clifton.

She was a homemaker. She was an active member of Ensley 1st United Methodist Church until she and Bill moved to Clanton in 1982.  Lois was a member of Bell Lane Baptist Church in Clanton.

Surviving are her son, James William Cooper Jr. of Montgomery; daughter, Carolyn C. Collins of Adamsville; three grandchildren, Dana Lee Collins of Clanton, Harry Vincent (Donna) Collins of Adamsville and Scott Westley Collins of Adamsville; three great-grandchildren, Eric Ray Myers, Taylor Victory Collins and Harrison Scott Collins; and three great-great grandchildren, Taylon Ray Myers, Silanna Nicole Myers and Bowen Campbell Myers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Bill” Cooper; parents, George Alexander and Alice Corneila Clifton; brothers, Cody Roland, George Alexander, Joseph Aubrey, James

Arthur and Jack Etheridge Clifton; and sisters, Willie Rose and Hazel Inez Clifton.

Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Friday, Sept. 2 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Friday, Sept. 2 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Doug Powell officiating.

Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Ensley.
