A Chevy Impala crashed into the back of a residence in the 400th block of Airport Road in Clanton yesterday morning.

There was reportedly only one person in the car and one occupant inside the house at the time of the crash. The crash damaged both the vehicle and the back room of the house, completely ripping out the doorway and part of the wall.

There were no injuries.

“The occupant and the driver of the vehicle were shaken up a bit, naturally,” Clanton Fire Chief David Driver said.

The driver was reportedly either visiting the resident of the house or picking the person up, officials on the scene indicated.

The cause of the crash is not known, but officials speculated the driver could have accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake.

Clanton Police, Fire and Rescue officials, and Regional Paramedical Services responded to the incident.
