The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office suspended the search for two suspects after a shooting off County Road 61 on Jan. 28. The incident left one person shot, and the victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to recover.

Officers received descriptions of the suspects — one white male and one black male, both estimated to be between 18-20 years old. The CCSO established a perimeter and deployed K9 units in the area, however, the search turned up nothing. Chilton County Sheriff John Shearon and officers have deemed this an isolated, targeted incident and there is no threat to the community. Officers are continuing their investigation into the incident.
