Chilton Christian Academy’s season came to an end as injuries caught up with the team before their final game against Pineview Christian Academy on Oct. 17, and the Patriots forfeited to end the 2024 season at 4-4.

After starting the season 1-3 with their only win coming from a forfeited game, the Patriots rallied together to end the season winning three of their last four games including sweeping the season series over Cahawba Christian Academy.

“Hands down, everyone improved 1,000 times over from day one to our last game, it was such a huge turnaround,” Chilton Christian head coach Jay Norcross said. “Me and the other coaches are proud of them.”

The positive thing about a young team is there are not many players that CCA will lose to graduation, only senior Denson Mahan. All 10 of the other players on the roster have already expressed their plans to come back for next season and continue to build on what the Patriots have started this year.

“The guys are excited and already starting to talk about next year,” Norcross said. “You just do not know if anyone else is going to come into the school, and one thing about six-man (football) is you are going to play no matter what grade you are in, and you are going to play a lot because it is a fast-paced game.”

Chilton Christian will now wait to see if any of its players will receive postseason honors.
