The October Chilton County Master Gardeners meeting was held on Oct 8. The guest speaker was Alisha Millican who has been a Master Gardener since 2017. Millican leads the Alabama Mushroom Society as the club’s President and serves on the Executive Board of the North American Mycological Association. In addition, she is the assistant curator of fungi for the University of West Alabama Herbarium. The program was titled ‘Fungus among us,’ and Millican gave a comprehension talk on everything about mushrooms. The Master Gardeners hope to schedule a foraging activity to apply some of the details discussed in the meeting.
