Jemison High School stepped out of region on Sept. 27 to take on Sylacauga High School, but lost a close contest 28-14.

Sylacauga forced four turnovers out of the Panthers — two interceptions and two fumbles, which put the visitors behind. Although the tough stretch, head coach Rishard Davis is proud of the team showing up each game and the effort that is there. He added that the team just may be trying a bit too hard, but once that is solved, wins could be on the horizon.

Jemison (0-6) is on a bye next week before it gets back to Class 5A Region 3 play for its next matchup on Oct. 11 traveling to Northside High School. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
